Structured Data

The complete text, annotations, cross-references, and reference material as JSON and USFM files, available in the GitHub repository. Includes:

• bible/tagged/ — verse text with all original markup preserved (<sc>, <i>, footnote anchors, marginal note markers, cross-reference markers), plus cross_refs arrays and inline footnotes. This is the canonical form.
• bible/raw/ — plain prose text with all markup stripped. Footnotes and cross-references preserved as structured data.
• usfm/ — USFM 3 files with inline footnotes (\f) and cross-references (\x).
• usfm-study/ — the same USFM, plus the annotations as study notes (\ef). Kept separate so the plain usfm/ files stay small.
• annotations/ — the 1,677 annotations with their 3,609 sub-notes, one file per chapter.
• reference/ — 26 JSON files for the original prefatory material: prefaces, tables, glossaries, and historical tables from the 1582 and 1609–1610 editions.
• index/lemmas/ — the offset and length locating each annotation's catchword in the verse it annotates. The offsets index the tagged text, markup included.
• manifest.json — schema version, source commit, and counts for every part of the bundle.

The JSON trees are the canonical form and preserve everything the corpus holds. The USFM is a faithful rendering of a 1582/1610 apparatus that USFM 3 cannot express in full, so a few constructs, chiefly footnotes inside introductions and chapter descriptions, are emitted as documented deviations rather than dropped or reworded. The repository records each one with its count.
